How To Maintain Body Positivity and Self Love During The Holidays

I admit that I suck at posing and in this picture you probably can’t tell…well maybe just a little bit. I was at this day party and my friend suggested I take pics in this corner that had BOMB lighting, so I went ahead and struck some poses which was awkward for me beause there were people around and I don’t like taking pictures in front of a lot of people.

So anyways, as I was struggling to get the best pose, my fellow curvy friend saw me struggling with my poses, you know like trying to get the right angle and all (making sure the fupa was looking decent), and I looked over and she was over there giving me this confident face like “you got this girl” and was literally striking poses to show of her curves for me to follow along. Immediately, I was like “yasss that’s how I’m supposed to do it!” So, she guided me in the poses and they came out amazing showing my curves and my beauty!

Honestly, the key good pi toctures, is just confidence and good posture. So keep that in mind before taking your next picture.

If you’re curvy like me, or just curvy in general, because you could be skinny and curvy, but if you have curves, then sometimes when you’re getting the wrong angle it may not appear to flatter your body. But baby, LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING!!! We have to realize that EVERY angle is a GOOD angle! We are beautiful from every side and although society may say different, I say forget society’s beauty standards, especially during the holidays!

I’m at the point where sis, if you wanna eat your Christmas decorated cookie, eat your cookie! If you wanna make some s’more’s and indulge, do that. I don’t care what anyone says! Put that sparkly dress on and show off your curves. Dance to your favorite holiday song unapologetically and record yourself, oh and by the way I heard is new Christmas song, “Oh Santa” by Mariah Carey ft. Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson, it’s lit. This holiday season recognize that it’s your world baby girl and can’t nobody take enjoying the holidays away from you. It’s a whole entire pandemic, no need to add on any more stress!

If you are reading this, know that you are beautiful, you are majestic, you are a queen and beautiful from every angle. So, do yourself a favor and look in the mirror and look at every angle and admiration and say “yassss you’re you are gorgeous and don’t you ever allow anyone to make you feel different”. Stop allowing people hate you out of loving yourself. Embrace the cellulite, embrace the fupa, embrace the stretch marks, because since it’s the holidays, just like a Christmas tree they are decorations. Get out of your head and get into that bawdy awdy awdy!

Although I am training with a personal trainer, I will never ever lose my curves, because they are a gift from God. They are what make me a woman. There are so many women who don’t know the power in their curves but that’s why I’m here for, sis. To remind you.

So if you follow my page on Instagram, realize that my brain no longer focuses solely on wellness but on Self-love and self care which as women we showcase through our make up in our fashion and I cannot wait for you guys to see my 12 slays of Christmas starting December 13. Hope you enjoy. love you lots

Oh and by the way, healthy people are happy people and I’m not talkin’ physical health. I’m talking mental and emotional health. Build the confidence to appreciate the body you’re in. That’s the key to self-love this holiday!
