5 Things To Do When The World Goes Back To Normal

I know you’re probably reading this while in isolation and either enjoying your time away from work, and capitalizing on this free time with family or building your business, or you hate it and ready to splurge your on clothes and dining in at your favorite restaurant. I’m sort of a mixture of all three (Lord give me strength)!

Either way, I thought of you when I created this list of 5 Things To Do When The World Goes Back To Normal After COVID-19.

1.     Meet up with your friends: we’ve all been alone together and took advantage of social distancing via social media, including the huge party that DJ Dnice threw. This was fun, but there’s nothing like being up close and personal with people. Go out for brunch, happy hour, coffee, shopping, anything! Being in the presence of your friends is beneficial for your heart and soul.

2.     Go to a spa and treat yourself: if you’re like me and are due for a pedicure, you know how serious it is when you look down at your toes, and the polish is chipped and your toes need some TLC.  Otherwise, treat yourself to a facial, massage, a steam, etc. You’ve been in the house far too long, you owe it to yourself.

Pssst…this photo was taken from Soak and Polish, Atlanta’s #1 Premiere Boutique Nail Salon. They have complimentary wine and candy, easy and free parking, a serene aesthetic treatment room, AND their files, buffers, and pumices are single use only, and are offered to you at the end of your treatment to take home. How cool is that right? I’m definitely going there first thing in the morning when this is all over!

3.     Travel: after being locked down for so long, I know you’re going to be ready to explore the world, so go ahead and do it! I’ve been following @blacktravelfeed on Instagram and have been inspired by so many beautiful pictures taken in beautiful places by beautiful people. Go ahead, I encourage you to take a journey down their feed, and write a list of places to travel to (I’ve got Bali, Colombia and the Maldives on my list *eye wink*).

I took this picture below from Black Travel Feed as an inspiration for travel ideas during this isolation. Isn’t it beautiful? I can imagine jumping in the picture and hopping on the swing myself!

4.     Pitch your business to potential partners and lenders-if you have been using this time to create your business plan, or edit it to make it more proficient and once this is all under control, send it out! Businesses will most likely be looking for other businesses or influencers to partner with, and lenders are probably looking to invest. If I were you, I’d definitely be researching and writing a list of contacts to reach out to. That way, you’re more strategic and intentional when pitching.

5.     Set up an emergency savings account-COVID-19 is considered an emergency and if you’re apart of the 3,000,000+ people across the world who filed for unemployment, you probably don’t have an emergency savings account for this type of emergency. Or even worse, you rely on your job as your one and only source of income (BIG COMMON MISTAKE, especially for African Americans) and your back is against the wall while you’re waiting for your stimulus check.  Well, when you’re financially secured and have a Financial Coach like me, you are not worried about a recession, unemployment benefit, or stimulus check. If you don’t have the funds to do so now, when you return to work, and receive a regular paycheck, start setting money aside, or save some of that stimulus check money, don’t spend foolishly.

With this being said, I encourage you to hire a financial coach. I know you’re probably thinking “a financial coach? Doesn’t that cost money? I cant afford that.” Well guess what, you CAN afford one, mine is free! Yup that’s right. I get free financial advice from my Financial Coach, and she wants to want people like you become financially secured so that we can really go back to living not just normal, but abundant lives when the world goes back to normal. That way, you can afford the most luxurious spa experience, or travel travel the world unapologetically, or even meet at a five star restaurant with your friends when you can finally meet again. Take advantage of everything that life has to offer, but of course, it costs money!
