7 Best Ways To Take Advantage of Working Remotely

Most of you have been impacted by the COVID-19 either physically, mentally or financially. Whether you’re sick or not from the virus, you’ve been impacted by it in some form. Although we may be impacted, we have to take advantage of the good side of this pandemic. So I created a list to give you all a better mindset during this time of chaos.

Here are are the Top 5 Ways To Take Advantage of COVID-19

  1. Take Care of Yourself- many of us have had our schools temporarily shut down, this is your opportunity to sit still at home, relax, catch up on sleep, meditate (my favorite meditation app is Headspace that app is like medicine to the soul and mind) and take care of you. Google some At Home Spa Day articles like this one here and ease your mind. My favorite at home spa routine is taking a nice warm bubble bath with a candle and meditation music. To make It more relaxing, I turn the lights off and it’s just me and my me-time at that moment, nothing else matters in the world. With everyone panicking from the virus, it’s essential to take care of your mental wellness.

  2. Utilize Social Media To Engage With Your Audience-if you have a business and a social media account for your business, this is your time to engage with your supporters. Talk to your audience, drop some gems, post a poll on your story, post a video, share a freebie, comment on their posts about how they’re affected by it. Also, acknowledge the fact that people may be financially impacted and if you don’t have a service or product like insurance or financial coaching, then be careful with selling.

  3. Plan An Event-this is your time to make plans for your business for when the virus gets a better control. Plan an event for your brand, check out my blog on How To Plan An Event Like A Bawse. An event doesn’t have to be a huge production. You could have a shoe business and host a shoe party or you could be a chef and host a tasting party. When COVID-19 is under control, people will want to go out and do things because they’ve been scared to get out. This is your time to work on the details and create something fun for them to do. Think of who you’d like to invite, where you want to have it at, what will you offer (food, music, goodies, discounts) and how they can benefit. Don’t think about when.

  4. Love On Your Family-if you live with family, spend time with them, if not, go visit them if they’re local. Play games with them, clean up the house together, catch up with them on their social life. We typically don’t have time for family because we’re always on the go with work so this is the time to catch up with them. Call your distant family members who you haven’t called in a while to see how they’re doing. You never know if someone in your family could get the virus, (especially the elderly) so it’s best that you love on everyone while they’re still here.

  5. Business Plan-if you don’t have a business plan, research how to and create one. Figure out how to turn your misery into your ministry. Speaking of which, you can download my book “How I Turned My Misery Into My Ministry” to learn how I created my business from the toxic relationships I experienced from intimate, work and family. It even includes a business checklist and a 30-day social media game plan.

  6. Take Advantage Of The Cheap Flights-these flight prices are out of control and if you have the means, take advantage. Plan for Christmas vacation or possibly the summer. My favorite app is Skipplagged and I found flights from Atlanta to Miami in July for $37 and to Los Angeles for the same price in May. Just be careful about booking these because we don’t know how long it’ll be before we get this situation under control.

  7. Read Your Bible-People who don’t have faith in God easily succumb to fear and to prevent that fear, this is the best time to read their Bible and get closer to God. Start a plan on the Bible app and read it daily. It will help keep you grounded. Remember that God watches over us and today is actually National Prayer Day, so use this day as a kickstart to being closer to God, more than you’ve ever been. Amid the chaos, God remains stable and his word ensures forever.

I hope this helps you avoid panicking during this pandemic. I believe that it’s important for us to remain calm and secure. Being secured mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Without these levels of security, when you return to work after COVID-19 is under control, you’ll miss out on all of these opportunities.

Oh and please remember to be safe, wash your hands and sanitize your phone daily. Take these necessary actions to keep yourself, your family, your purpose and your business safe.
