The Ultimate Guide To Beginning A Wellness Journey

I know there’s plenty of people that are taking care of their wellness due to the uncertainty in the world, especially African Americans. If you look on social media, many influencers (including me) are using our platform to influence and educate the power of wellness. If you didn’t know, wellness is the state of being in good health. When you’re on a wellness journey, you are actively pursuing and paying attention to your health.

The key element in a wellness journey is your mindset. If you train your mind, the rest will align (hey that rhymed). Think of your mind as the captain of your ship. Your heart, appetite, finances, spirituality and sexuality are your crewmen and they must listen to the captain. 

This is why affirmations are so important when it comes to training and shifting your mind. Affirmations are verbal commands delivered by the captain to the crewmen. Your affirmation could be “I surround myself only with objects and people that cater to my wellness.” When the captain says this, the crew is like “ok cool, we got you! We’re not going to be around negative people, we are only going to crave for food that is healthy, we’re not going to waste money on nonsense, and we’re going to ask God for discernment.” It’s all about teamwork.

Before sending you anything, God and the universe pay attention to how you treat yourself before they decide to reward you, it’s that simple. Ever since I began my wellness journey, I started attracting abundance. I began getting offered opportunities, received sponsorships, and now my bank account has seen more money than it has in years (even with a job-for those who don’t know, I got laid off due to the coronavirus). But how was I able to do this? With these easy steps:

1.    Get a journal-write in your journal every day. It could be a list of manifestations or even a record of how your day went. When you choose to manifest in your journal, you’re making it known to the universe what exactly it is that you want. When you choose to write about your day, you’re able to keep track of how you are making progress in your journey. It holds you accountable. 

2.    Claim affirmations daily-You’ll want to claim at least 7 affirmations daily to ensure your “crewmen” know exactly what to do for the day. You’re basically setting the record straight and this creates tunnel vision for you (plus your level of discernment sharpens).

3.    Set a schedule-if you have been working from home, your schedule can get out of control since you’re in your comfort zone. Do yourself a favor and map out your day and stick to it. Most importantly, don’t forget to schedule at least an hour for self-care.

4.    Write a budget-when you create a weekly budget, this helps you maintain your finances. Doing this creates a mindset of investing and not spending. Besides, it will be difficult to focus on wellness when you can’t even afford wellness products and services.

5.    Invest in wellness products-wellness products are essential, they help navigate your wellness journey only if you have the right commodities.
