Not Every Hairstylist Knows What They Are Doing & Not Every Entrepreneur Knows What They Are Doing

Wassup guys! I am super excited about the Millionaire Mastermind Entrepreneur Summit going down tomorrow and even more ecstatic that I get to be on the leadership team, what an honor, right?!

So this blog is coming from a place of lessons learned this weekend and I want to share with you this major lesson I learned Friday.

As you know, I’m a hairstylist, so I’ve been doing my own hair for THE longest, but whenever I get my hair done by someone else, it’s usually something that I can’t do because I don’t know how to or too lazy to do (lace wig installs). All of my experiences have been great with other hair stylists, except for this one I had this weekend.

So I recently cut my hair this year for a different look and I’ve only had 1 person cut my hair but she’s expensive. I thought I could be cheap (major mistake) and get my haircut this weekend, so I got my hair cut at SUPERCUTS (another major mistake). When I walked in, it was two black women working...wooosah. I showed them a picture of what I wanted and they said ok cool, we can do that for you, we just can’t do serious designs. I said “no problem, I just want lines” and they said “yes we can do that”. They weren’t lying, they did my lines correctly BUT they messed up the rest of my hair and now I’m walking around looking like that dude from house party with the big forehead. I had one of those “what I wanted versus what I got” moments!

I’m mortified and embarrassed by the audacity of their behavior but good thing I make wigs right??

Needless to say, not every hair stylist knows what they are doing and not every entrepreneur knows what they are doing.

Being a business owner takes time, skills, practice, obedience, and honesty! You have to know what you are doing and not everyone does.

Some people will tell you all day they can do XYZ but haven’t even gotten past ABC. You have to build a foundation and discover what’s for you. Not every assignment is for you and before you take on any any challenge and make a profit, you must make sure you are equipped to accept it, otherwise you will destroy the image of your brand. Word of mouth and the power of referrals is a stronghold in marketing and you want everyone who you service to say that they had a great experience with you so they can send you their friends.

Make sure that you become a master at your craft, get the proper documentation for your business, start branding, and most importantly, learn how to run a business with the the right resources and tools. Not many entrepreneurs take this step in learning how to build, grow and scale their business and its a mistake that many business owners make! That’s why 8 out of 10 businesses fail, this is ultimately unacceptable! Most people don’t realize the glitz and glam comes later, after the blood, sweat and tears.

With that being said, don’t make that mistake that other people are doing. Equip yourself with the right knowledge, build your muscle memory so that you can build generational wealth and live a life beyond your wildest dreams.

You can equip yourself by attending conferences, summits, workshops, networking events, and anything else that is entrepreneur related. Speaking of summits, if you haven’t purchased your tickets to the Millionaire Mastermind Entrepreneur Summit to help you learn how to be a GREAT entrepreneur, then click here.

Tickets are only $75, don’t be like me and try to be cheap with starting your business, like I was with my haircut, you’ll regret it and you can’t cover everything with a wig! Spend wisely and invest your time (which I think is far more valuable than money) in your business, and watch how you manifest success with your business. 2020 is waiting for you, and I don’t know if you heard, but 2020 is smelling like a whole of new successful million dollar businesses and I want to be a part of that and so should you!

If you are attending, leave a comment below, I look forward to seeing you there!
